  • How do I submit my project ?
    You can submit your project via your user account in the "Submit a project" section.Few readers
  • Can I only fill in the form online?
    Yes.Few readers
  • Which language should I use to submit my dossier?
    Your file must be written in English because there are English-speaking selectors (we don’t expect perfect English, just that the overall idea is understandable). For French speakers, a French version is mandatory as well as the English version.Few readers
  • Does the deadline for submitting projects take into account each country’s time zone?
    No, the deadline corresponds to the French time zone, which is set to Central European Time (CET), at 11:59 pm. In other words, the deadline for project submissions for the 2025 edition will be 11:59pm on January 31.Few readers
  • Who chooses the projects?
    Panels made up of professionals including representatives from CITIA look after choosing projects for each category. Several different partners offer prizes for the projects. Each partner chooses a particular project to reward. For further information, please contact Sylvain Grain (sylvaingrain@citia.org).Few readers
  • When are the selected projects announced?
    Deliberations will take place at the end of March. The results will be announced via e-mail as quickly as possible, before the end of April.Few readers
  • If my project is selected, how are the Pitches conducted?
    The projects selected during these 2025 Calls for Projects will have visibility at the Mifa: one live pitch (10 min on average) in front of an audience of professionals (400-seat auditorium).Few readers
  • Do I have accreditation if I submit a project to the Mifa Pitches?
    No, only project leaders of selected projects receive a free accreditation.Few readers
  • To take advantage of the lowest rates I would like to purchase my accreditation early, but if I get selected I receive a free accreditation.
    We strongly recommend that you get your accreditation because if you are selected we will refund you. If you do not get selected, you will have taken advantage of the lowest rates.Few readers
  • How to submit my project to the new Documentary pitching session ?
    In the Short Film, Feature Film and TV Series & Specials categories, a ‘documentary’ box must be ticked to be considered in this category.Few readers
  • I have written a screenplay for an animated film, but I do not have all the graphic material available. Can I submit it?
    No. For all categories, you must send all the graphic research material with your project. Also, if possible, try to find a graphic designer to work with.Few readers
  • I have a short film project but my storyboard only contains 3 key sequences. Can I submit it to the Mifa Pitches?
    Yes.Few readers
  • I have a feature film project, but I have not yet created the storyboard. Can I still submit it to the Mifa Pitches?
    Of course, a storyboard is required for short film projects but not for features. It is very important that your paperwork contains examples of the design and graphics to be used, to have an idea of the style and atmosphere of the project.Some readers
  • Can a project compete if a subvention has been asked for?
    Yes, a project awaiting news of a subvention can compete, providing that the information is included in the paperwork. Please note: selected projects and therefore Pitches, should still be looking for financing to justify any interest to the audience.Few readers
  • What does "first presentation in Europe" mean?
    Only projects that have never been selected or pitched at other European events during the same year can be submitted to the Mifa Pitches. Networking and personal interviews with TV channels, financers and broadcasters are nevertheless possible. If you have presented your project at another European event in the past (not during the current year) and it has undergone significant development, it is still eligible for the Mifa Pitches.Few readers
  • Can I submit a project if I am a producer?
    As a producer (associated or not with one or more creators), you can submit a feature or digital experiences project, as long as all regulations in the category concerned have been respected. The projects for TV series & specials and short films can only be submitted by one or more of the writers of these projects. A project that has already been subject of interest from a producer can be submitted but this must be stipulated.Few readers
  • I have been working on my project during my animation studies. Can I submit it to the Mifa Pitches?
    No. Your project should be completely personal and not part of your animation training course.Few readers
  • I'm an animation student and I have been working on a project for a short film outside of my studies. Can I submit it to the Mifa Pitches?
    Yes.Few readers
  • Can I register several projects?
    The same author cannot be involved in more than 2 TV series/specials or short film projects in the same year, neither can a producer of feature films o immersive experience projects.Few readers
  • I have already submitted a project to the Mifa Pitches, can I submit it again?
    Yes, but only if it didn't win any prizes in the Mifa Pitches and has undergone major changes in the meantime.Few readers
  • Can I submit my film for both the official selection and the Mifa Pitches?
    No. If your film is finished or in production, you cannot submit it to the Mifa Pitches, which is only for projects in their development stage and not yet in production.Few readers
  • I have made a short film that could be developed into a series or a feature: how to submit it?
    You can only submit your finished short to the official selection in the Short Film category. If you have developed this short film into a feature (or a series) you can submit it to the Mifa Pitches along with all the documents required by the regulations. However, the selection committee will evaluate it as a feature (or series) project and not judge the short film.Few readers
  • Can I submit a project adapted from a comic strip?
    Of course, so long as proof that the adaptation rights have been authorised by the original author and his/her publishing company is included in the dossier.Few readers
  • What does "dated and signed note" mean for pre-purchase enquiries from a TV channel or presentation?
    Dated and signed notes stating that the project has not been presented at any other European event during the current year, or been pre-purchased by a TV channel, substantiates that your information is compliant. A dated and signed Word document containing a sentence such as "I, the undersigned… certify that my project… " will suffice.Few readers
